I was really looking forward to our 3 night break in Filey. I grew up holidaying there every year, and wanted to show my family around. The Bay was a perfect base, just 5 minutes drive from town, or a good 30 minute walk along the beach into town.
Harlequin cottage was perfect. Spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. With every little thing thought of..the little extras like tea and coffee supplied, and lovely fluffy towels were much appreciated. Our children loved the games, books and tv in their room!
The pool is is great, though we didn't try any of the extra activities. We did try the Italian cafe on site. Don't expect a restaurant as it really is a cafe. But the food was great with huge portions! 2 adult meals, 2 children's meals, 4 drinks including 2 alcoholic £35.. Good value.
There is a lot of building still going on on the site, but it didn't spoil things at all.
If you have never been to 'sterchi's' chocolates in Filey town, go! We've been customers over 40 years, and it's still as good as ever!
Filey town itself seems to be frozen in time.. Much of it is exactly the same as it was 40 years ago, which of course, I loved, and got very nostalgic!

My daughter loved it so much, she cried when we left! We'll be back !

The cottage is lovely, set close enough to the sea for long walks to Filey centre. The actual cottage itself is top of the range with everything we could have asked for already thought about. 5* all round with a great time had by all. We will be returning soon.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We had a lovely stay and were sad to leave. We've stayed at The Bay many times and would rate this cottage as one of the best. Compared to some of the other 2 bedroom cottages, this one is more spacious. But more importantly the owner has put a lot of thought into making sure that guests have everything they... more

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Sharon's property at The Bay complex near Filey. It was very relaxing and there were wonderful walks for the dog from the property. We did our shopping at an excellent Co-op in Hunmanby village. We had a very good meal at the Italian Bistro on site and had a drink in the welcoming pub nearby.

Had a great 4 nights in this lovely accommodation. It was spotless and had everything you could want or need. Great for all but particularly excellent for those of us who like to holiday with our pets. We had 2 dogs with us and it was a pleasure to be able to go out the door and be on the beach in 10 mins. It is a bit of a hike back up the hill from the beach but cars did drive down and there are a few parking spots. Pub was good as was the Italian and again both dog friendly. There is some building work ongoing but it certainly did not disturb us or spoil our break. I can certainly recommend the Harlequin and the Bay and look forward to going back in the not too distant future.

Very nice holiday accommodation, good location, convenient for Filey and local attractions.
House was very well equipped and immaculate throughout. Every detail thought of, which is very much appreciated when travelling with a toddler!

Absolutely superb place to stay. The Bay is a great location to use as a base for visitors East Yorkshire but with it's own sandy beach (huge!). It's great for walking the dog and kids. Very nice swimming pool on-site. The property Harlequin was spotless and extremely well equipped. A real home from home. Some building work on-going on the site but that did not interfere with us or detract from our holiday at all. If I had anything negative to say about our holiday then it's that we didn't plan a long enough holiday to enable us to see and do everything we could have done. Definitely recommend.

This is a review from our first guest Simone

We have just come back from a 6 night stay at Harlequin at the Bay. The cottage was brand new and really lovely. It was set back on a courtyard meaning that the front was private and not overlooked. The cottage is very modern and had everything we needed. There was also some nice extras such as DVDs, colouring books, reading books, board games, dog biscuits and bowls. As well as a box of chocs for my birthday. It provided a great base to explore the Yorkshire Coast- the children particularly loving Crabbing in Whitby and exploring caves in Flamborough. There was construction work going on very close by, but we were aware of this beforehand and it didn't disturb us. There is poor WiFi and phone signal on the site but this encouraged the kids to play out more and use the board games so a positive. I would prefer if the back was more enclosed and private and the site could do with more on-site places as the pub, Italian and pool were very busy at times (but it is Peak time so expected.) Overall we had a great family holiday and loved that our dog could come everywhere with us. We will definitely looking to book again.

We stayed at the the Harlequin over a weekend in September and it was an absolute delight . Sometimes skeptical regarding all excellent reviews but on this occasion they are all correct . The cottage is lovely with lots of homely touches and you want for nothing . A real credit to Sharon and Andrew . They should feel proud .
Just enough on camp which suited us . The beach ten minutes walk away is lovely and clean Make sure you visit the cliff cafe a 15 minute slow walk to the right once you on the beach .
we expected bad weather but Filey must have a Micro-Climate as it stayed really nice with sun and tee shirt weather on the beach . Oscar absolutely loved it!
We really chilled out and have just booked again for March 18 and cannot see it being our last visit.
thank you
